Our concept of home is deep, as are our roots that go deep into this magnificent land, made of rocks sculpted by the wind and the sea.

We witnessed the birth of Costa Smeralda, we were here as it grew; Mario Carola, our father, was a Gallurese, a self-made entrepreneur who became one of the most esteemed entrepreneurs of Costa Smeralda, building projects by the best architects, veritable works of art built on virgin, unblemished territory like there are few others on the Mediterranean.

The Relais Vila Carola is perched on a hill facing the sea, with simple and irregular shapes that seem to be moving, against a spectacular backdrop, like all other Costa Smeralda constructions which “do not emerge from nature: they are within nature”; “They are supposed to see, not to be seen. They should whisper, not yell”.

The external discretion of the plasterwork in natural pastel colours is a contrast with the interior: within the Home there is an explosion of strong personality and character, bringing nature inside with curves, vaulted ceilings, twisted juniper beams, niches and artistic details that use rare and precious materials shaped by local experts.

We naturally embraced this hospitality inclination, recreating within the Home all necessary comforts, using the materials of the land, including granite and unfinished wood, letting in the best kind of light: natural light, adding furnishings and accessories that facilitate and organise everyday life, not to provide service but to create well-being, creating the proper balance to ensure the comfort of its occupants. Because a comfortable home improves quality of life of those who live in it and of everyone near it. We place at the centre of our choices humans and their need to live in a comfortable place, in a lovely environment. This wish for comfort and well-being has instinctively and with simplicity guided all our choices, from furnishings to fabrics; Frette Premium line towels and bedlinen; every glass, every napkin was selected to welcome those who choose Relais Villa Carola Home, in a context rich with discreet yet essential details.

Then we added technology, making it easier to enjoy the house, but first and foremost we selected a qualified and courteous staff: with professionalism and discretion, they welcome, follow and take care of our guests, not only making them feel at home, but also making them feel welcome and attended to, the only protagonists of their experience in Costa Smeralda and in Sardinia.
